Look at him: fork in one hand, eyes wide open, devouring a film reel like it's his last meal. That's us. Hours every day swallowing movies, series, reels and endless scrolling – feeding the mind with junk food and wondering why the soul feels hungry.
The Kabbalists teach that the eyes are the gates of the soul, and whatever enters through them becomes a part of us. "V'lo taturu acharei levavchem v'acharei eineichem" – do not stray after your hearts and after your eyes (Numbers 15:39).
